About AWF
AWF was founded by A’ja and her parents, Roscoe and Eva Wilson. The AWF mission is twofold, we serve as a resource for children and their families who struggle with dyslexia to empower them to reach their full potential through educational programming, workshops and camps. AWF works to change the culture of students to prevent bullying through education and mentoring, challenging students to use their power to empower compassion and inclusivity amongst their peers.
Our Mission
We are on a mission to change the culture by empowering individuals to overcome the stigma of dyslexia and create a world where bullying is no longer tolerated.
Our vision is to have a future where everyone, regardless of their challenges, feels supported, valued, and empowered to succeed. We strive to show the world that individuals with learning disabilities can achieve greatness when given the right resources and opportunities.
“Your challenges don’t define you—your determination does. Embrace your journey, and show the world what’s possible.”
Welcome to another side of A'ja's world—off the court, where her passion for giving back shines just as brightly as her basketball career.
As a WNBA champion, MVP, and Olympic gold medalist, A’ja Wilson has solidified her place as one of basketball’s brightest stars. Her journey from collegiate dominance at the University of South Carolina, under the guidance of Coach Dawn Staley, to becoming a leader in the WNBA is a testament to her hard work, resilience, and love for the game. But A’ja’s impact goes far beyond the court.
Through the A’ja Wilson Foundation, she’s dedicated to empowering young girls facing challenges like dyslexia and mental health struggles. The foundation creates opportunities for these girls to build confidence, find support, and realize their full potential. Inspired by her family and mentors, A’ja believes in the power of community and giving back.
Off the court, she channels her creativity into her candle business and dedicates herself to youth development, proving that success is about more than just wins—it’s about making a lasting impact. A’ja extends her gratitude to those who’ve supported her along the way, and she invites you to be inspired by her journey. Whether on the court or in her community, A’ja’s story is a reminder to chase your dreams, overcome obstacles, and uplift those around you.
